5. What is Gods purpose for the earth?
The Bible clearly states God's purpose for the earth and how man was to take part in this purpose. Simply stated, man would live forever on earth, man would reproduce with his chosen mate and would cultivate the grounds in peace and security. Genesis 1:27-28 says, "And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Further, God blessed them and God said to them: 'Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.'" Further, in Genesis 2:17 He says, "And Jehovah God proceeded to take the man and settle him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and to take care of it." This purpose of God was first stated as his objective for the earth. But when Man chose independance from God as explained in Genesis 3:15 discussed above, this purpose then became a prophecy since this purpose now became an event that must take place at some point in mans future history or else it would be obvious that something was stronger than God so that He could not realize what he had purposed for the earth. Since nothing is stronger than God, this purpose was now set for some future time.
